Which models are affected by the safety recall?

Certain Evinrude® E-TEC® G2 150-300 HP outboard models, built in June or July of 2017


To confirm that your VIN (Vehicle identification Number) is affected, contact your authorized Evinrude/Johnson dealer or BRP at 1-844-345-4277 Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm CST.

 
What is the potential problem?

The nuts on the gearcase, and on the exhaust housing extension (if applicable), may become loose, allowing the gearcase assembly to detach from the outboard engine. In some circumstances, this situation may initiate an abrupt change in direction and loss of steering, which could cause serious injury or even death.

What should you do?

Call an authorized Evinrude dealer and make an appointment to have your Evinrude®E-TEC® G2 150-300 HP outboard models serviced.

The authorized dealers have been instructed and have the necessary parts in order to complete the service procedure. The service will be performed at no charge to you. This repair should take approximately less than an hour and a half.
